Video Transcript for Comprehensive Review: Americana Trailer Wheel Lug Nut

Today we're going to take a look at the half-inch by 20, stainless steel Acorn Trailer wheel lugnut. This is designed to fit the half-inch diameter wheel studs. It is a right-hand, normal thread, 20 threads per inch. You notice, it has the 60-degree taper on the bottom, that's designed to fit the beviled opening of the lug hole on the wheel. The head size of the socket that's needed to remove this or install it, it's a 7/8-inch size. I happened to pull, here's a 7/8-inch socket, and you can see, it fits right on there perfectly.

This part is for quantity of one lug nut, and the length on this, this is an extra long lug nut, so the length on this,, just to give you the overall length from bottom to the top, is going to be right at about two inches long. That should do it for the review of the half-inch by 20, stainless steel Acorn Trailer wheel lug nut.

It was a pleasure ordering from e-trailer. When it came to buying rims for my boat trailer there were many questions and options that I had and Brenden was very knowledgable and helpful. Then I decided to put better looking lug nuts on the rims and Rose spent the time to make sure that I was picking out the proper lug nuts for my specific rims. The staff at e-trailer are extremely courteous and I will definitely order from them again.

The stainless steel lug nuts are wonderful and certainly look great with my new Sendel wheels on my 2013 Montana. Great timing on shipping, too! I would recommend this product to keep your wheels looking fantastic!

There lug nuts

by:

I'm very happy with this product. Using an impact didn't even scratch em. I would definitely purchase these again if needed for another trailer. Really dressed up my wheels!

by:

One year after initial install and they still appear new. Great product and price along with superior customer service
Thank You George.

I have been several thousand miles now, with out a problem

This was the last component I needed for the new wheels/tires and lug nuts purchased from etrailet last month. It really dresses up the camper.

by:

When the lug nuts came, they looked and fit great with the rims and center caps I purchased earlier from etrailer.com.

The original “chrome” nuts I ordered were back ordered but I was promptly notified with an alternate choice so my order could go out immediately, they look great and won’t rust, thank you!

Boat trailer tires, mag rims, and nuts are great, I have a few thousand miles on them now and since I leave the truck and trailer empty at numerous remote public access my only issue is I worry that they’ll still be on the trailer when I return from fishing! I’ve had many compliments on the rims!!

by:

Just received the 32 lug nuts and installed 8 in the first rim. Look good and I think they should last longer than the 6 years I got out of the original chrome plated ones before they rusted.
Etrailer is always easy to do business with.

still going strong, look like new.

by:

Worked perfectly to cover the studs so the threads don't rust up anymore!

etrailer customer service is exemplary, even with shipping problems. I opted to pay a bit more for 3-5 day UPS even though USPS shipping on my product was free. The USPS is becoming erratic but UPS was not any better, if not worse. It took nearly 3 weeks to receive the product after the product was either stolen or damaged. UPS did not or would not elaborate which requided etrailer to again start the shipping process. Lug nuts appear to be quality made but only time will tell after some road use.

by:

First let me say ...ETRAILER.COM should win an award for best customer service of the decade.... It's refreshing to buy from a company that truly appreciates your business. The quality of the products, the great prices and fast shipping. Over all I would give them a 10 out of 10. O the stainless lug nut is good quality and a great price to. Thanks .............

by:

rebuilt 2 trailers and etrailer has satisfied all my needs for parts

shipping is very quick and happy with that too

so far all parts where recieved as stated and fit perfect.

no returns on parts ordered so far

by:

Rust free alternative to chrome nuts with the correct depth for new aluminum wheels. Be sure to use deep sockets and avoid impact nut drivers.

by:

Stainless is only sleeve, not the nut

Looks fine after a year in open

by:

Look good. Well made. Fit properly. Have them on all my trailer wheels.

by:

Order came quickly and installation was trouble free. You can see the before and after on the pictures. Hope they hold up better than OME lug nuts.

by:

The lug nuts were dirty, had a lot of die marks and required a lot of polishing to make them shine. I would not recommend them to anyone that cares about looks.

by:

Using to dress up RV wheels. The look and fit is great. Fantastic customer service and very quick shipping.
Thank you, George.

by:

Much better than the rusty chrome lug nuts from the factory.

by:

Perfect replacement to existing 12 year old nuts. Although sleeves are stainless, underlying material is not and puckers up with corrosion over time.

by:

When the mechanic strip a brand new lug nut, etrailer was able to match it with no trouble.

by:

Got the right amount on time decent price . Product is very solid looking stainless steel .

by:

order was processed timely and shipping updates provided.

  • What Lug Nuts Should Be Used With The Aluminum Trailer Wheel
Hello Jody, thanks for reaching out. For a lug nut to go with the Aluminum Wheels I recommend the Americana Trailer Wheel Lug Nut # AM90070. This is a 1/2" - 20 stainless steel lug nut. It is 2-3/32" long overall which is longer than the # AM26NR so it will work well with the limited room on the wheels.

We have a wheel and tire to make up what you're looking for but we don't have it in a combo that is already mounted on a wheel. Instead you need: Westlake 235/85-16 Load Range G tire part # LHWL410 Taskmaster Steel Modular Trailer Wheel part # TA73VR It's the same tire but a different wheel. This wheel causes a small drop in your capacity because it's only rated for 3,500 pounds where the 8 lug wheel is rated at 3,750 pounds.

  • What Size Lug Nut Do The Wheel Masters Lug Nut Covers WM8019 Fit?
Hello Travis, thanks for reaching out. The Wheel Masters Lug Nut Covers # WM8019 work with 7/8" lug nuts. We do offer one 7/8" lug nut part # AM90070. This is 2-3/32" long though so this is a bit longer than what would typically be used with the covers. They are most commonly used on Ford trucks with 7/8" lug nuts, and most of the lug nuts we carry are intended for trailers.

I definitely get where you're coming from, and fortunately we have a pretty cost-effective solution for you with the stainless steel lug nuts. These are slightly more than the standard chrome plated lug nuts so you won't be shelling out too much more money for this upgrade: - Standard Height # AM26NR - Taller Height # AM90070 (for wheels with deep bolt hole designs)

  • Looking For Aluminum Wheels With Stainless 1/2" Lug Nuts For Tandem Axle Boat Trailer
Hey Darrell, thanks for your questions and business! The Kenda Karrier KR35 ST185/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 13" Black Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 # KE54TJ, like most trailer wheels, just requires that the lug nut is at least flush with the end of the wheel stud, but it's always better if the stud is a bit longer if at all possible. These take a 1/2" diameter studs and nuts. As far as the surge brakes concern, you won't have to worry as that doesn't affect the wheel and tire at all. For lug...

The Loadstar ST185/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire with 13" Galvanized Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range D # AM3S334 has a max speed of 81 mph so the speed mixed with the ambient heat likely had a strong factor. If your tires weren't inflated to 65 psi cold prior to the trip that would also have an impact. This is a great tire and wheel so 7 years likely has taken a toll as well. The tire has a width of 7.2 inches and an outer diameter of 24.4 inches so if looking to upgrade size you will want...

  • What is Better for Salt Water: Chrome Lug Nuts or Stainless Steel Lug Nuts
It actually matters greatly! Chrome is not all that corrosion resistant. Stainless steel on the other hand is light years ahead of chrome as far as corrosion resistance. Since you are at the Gulf Coast and salt water stainless steel is the way to go. I do not know the size you need but some examples of stainless steel lug nuts include # AM90070 or # KALN1375S for 1/2"-20 threads (very common). On aluminum wheels regular lug nuts won't work well because they are not long enough to stick...

  • Lug Nut Recommendation for 2023 Bass Tracker Trailer with Aluminum Wheels
Hey Allen, I really like the solid stainless steel lug nuts part # AM90070. These are never going to bulge or corrode like the other two piece lug nut options will so you'll never have any issues you'd have to blame on your lug nuts. Your wheels have steel inserts where the lug nuts contact them so you wouldn't have to worry about issues from dissimilar metals.

  • Stainless Steel Lug Nut Recommendation for 2015 Keystone Montana High Country
I was able to track down an owner's manual for your 2015 Keystone Montana High Country. Although it does not specifically list the lug nut part number, it does state that the wheel bolts are 1/2" and that you use a 7/8" socket in your torque wrench to tighten the lug nuts. So, the Americana Stainless Steel Lug nut, # AM90070, that you mentioned will work. I recommend that you install your lug nuts in 3 stages. First, you want to start with your torque wrench at a low ft/lb setting and...
